EPDM is a synthetic rubber compound that can be manipulated to improve its positive characteristics of superior chemical resistance, release properties, and ozone tolerance. It is a composite rubber that can be specifically formulated to be used in flexographic printing, UV ink, coating, laser engraving, or high heat applications.

EPDM formulations are often blended with variations of several compounds including Teflon and Silicone to enhance certain desired characteristics.

3.Applications of EPDM Rubber Parts

EPDM rubber is ethylene propylene diene monomer, a synthetic elastomer that exhibits outstanding heat, ozone and weather resistance. It also has excellent electrical insulating properties and heat resistance. EPDM offers many of the same properties as neoprene at a lower cost. Unlike some other rubbers, EPDM does not have good resistance to fuels, oils and chemicals. As a result, it is not recommended for use in automotive or machine applications. EPDM rubber parts are used for outdoor applications.
